Kohey founded Oisix Inc. in 2000 under the corporate philosophy of "bringing a richer diet to ordinary households". Oisix has been listed on TSE Mothers since March 2013. Kohey was also elected as one of the Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum in 2007. In the same year, he joined the board of the NPO "TABLE FOR TWO International" which actively participates in improving world food problems. In the wake of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, he created the "Eat, and Energize the East" association to assist the reconstruction efforts in afflicted regions.
